dreamz bakery@the strand, kota damansara

cause bulat will go to the ends of the earth for dessert! hohoho!
:D
found this by accident by randomly clicking blogs and off i went to scout the place. while mom was enjoying her manipedi session, i went and piled on some calories -_-!

hello! the cute door that greets you before entering! seriously, if you do not know the area well, you might have to waste a lil petrol making rounds cause it wasn't really prominent to begin with and it's kinda tucked away..hidden..somewhere. laughs*

the signage at the door:)
you are required to take off your shoes before entering (if i remember correctly) i guess it does promote warm, homey kinda feel by doing so.

the blackboard that was outside with the signage..brings manymany memories of high school and the horrible chalk dust floating around when erased. the fact that i was short, not fun erasing the blackboard LOL i recalled in std 3 maybe? i was jumping to rub the top part of the blackboard. short remember? not to mention fat too (fatter then now lol growing sideways at top speed!)
and my teacher actually said, in front of the whole class.
"omg! don't jump. i can feel earthquake! i can't mark my work!"
.....i don't have to tell you how loud everyone laughed and she was actually being serious cause while saying it, she was holding both sides of the table with her hands like there was really an earthquake-_-!

this will greet you once you step in! the beautiful display of cakes...no , wait. actually the aroma will hit you first laughs* nothing beats a nice smelling cafe...omg...it's is damn heavenly the feeling...not to mention they have a glass window at the right side of the cafe that gives you a small view of the kitchen where 2 or 3 pastry chefs would be sprinkling their magic dusts to produce awesome goodies! :D yay!

lil trinkets, bits and pieces that are for sale. did not get anything. i know! bulat always buys lapsap! how come?! hahaha purse on a diet.

here the window that you can see the magic working! :D sorry bout the bag...hahah don't know whose isit. spoiling my photo-_-! pifts* i love the fact the furnitures are all white! and the fishnet thing is prolly something where customers write comments bout their cakes and stuff to put there. on the left is a very nice hand-drawn cutesy wall~

love this! patchwork cloth thing to serve as a divider? door? i think i used to hate this kinda patchwork thing when i was young. both my grandmas did many things like these and i thought it was horrible cause it looks like a poor people thing *spoilt girl lol* but now my views have changed 180 degree..hahah i wonder why.

they have another room after the patchwork divider thing which i lovelove. it feels like a nice place for people to hang out if there a small party or something...maybe around 15 people? to just do whatever you want amongst yourself in a private room. downside is, right opposite this room is an office? actually its a floor that is divided by 2. the cafe on one side and office of a co. the other side. there was no one in that office when i went but my friend said there was when she went and it felt kinda weird to have a bunch of random ppl "at the cafe" although they are in another room all together.

one of the best seller- chocolate cake.
tasted like..a..normal good chocolate cake? laughs* not those that made me ooohhh-ahhhhh but it was a good cake. not like a rip off of your money that kind.

the mille crepe cake! arhhh!!!* i sometimes wonder what is the big fuss over mille crepe cakes (like what is the fuss over macaroons.) but whatever...ahhhh!!!!*
erm ...this was prolly tiramisu. it was not bad....but still nothing beats the famous nadeje at melacca....or austin chase's layer cake.

original/vanilla mille crepe...sadly this was...like.....it was like eating butter. hardened butter. cold hardened butter. mille crepe is usually soft. this was actually kinda hard...i was alright with the taste but my bro (being the pro if all mille crepe cakes) hated it. hahaha T_T he said it was not good at all. wasting his calories. sigh* i read good reviews on their mille crepe though. maybe the pâtissier was having a bad day thus this cake, lacking with love during baking process..haha-_-!

chocolate cake decorated by yours truly....for mom. hahahahhahahah-_-
nothing better to do. seriously.
on a plus side, i feel the cakes are reasonably priced at around rm8.50 per piece..don't think i see these kind of prices anymore lately. it's crazy but it starts to feel like rm12-rm15 is a normal pricing for a slice of cake when clearly you don't need that much for the ingredients.

well...if you don't pay (as in cash) then you will pay (as in energy) when you self-bake. hahahaha

and now lemme show you bulat de super messy room!!!!
jengjengjeng*

messier then before...hahaha-_-''
keng ma? i also feel very keng. hahahaha :D
my mom say like i just shifted in...or maybe i am shifting out? :D
one day to shift everything out of the room and one more day to shift everything back in...just that when i shift back in got no more table to put my stuffs so all on the floor.

kelian ~

now i have to repaint the corner of the room (can see a lil bit at the left side from the pic. that whole are must paintpaint if not my wall naked colour) and i need to think what/how to kaotim that area since the L shape table is gone~T3T

ideaidea? :D

should i get a long cupboard put there so i can place my books(effing a lot of books) and a big pillow to sit and read at that area? keke~ then i can get a small square table put in the middle of my room with round shape carpet underneath for sit down talktalk, drink tea..erm...and let you all draw random pics with my art stuffs hahaha when unpack room i found all my leftover college art supplies :D

can gather in my room. no need meet downstairs~ wahahaha~
no TV, can watch laptop, sit on my bed :D
good?

but must take care budget though T3T not much money oh~

the L shape table lucky took off cause the whole termite's nest was at the back of the cupboard where it can't be seen! got a shock at how big the nest was! O_o means all this while i was sharing my rooms with MANYMANY termites. they owe me rental! eat my floor some more!

Groupon Voucher : Sushi Q

bought from groupon Malaysia.

as written :
for RM11.90, you get a Japanese set meal consisting of a box of assorted sushi and sashimi (RM18.80 value), a bowl of miso soup (RM2.50 value) and free flow of hot green tea (RM2.50 value) at Sushi Q (RM23.80 total value)
actually the main reason we bought this is cause every Sat we are at the JFKL library,Midvalley so it makes sense to buy vouchers that are redeemable at Midvalley/Gardens right? :P funnily we ate something veryvery filling that day and not even 2 hours later, we went to redeem this. laughs*

poke pocky's tummy!*

verdict : seriously in comparison with groupon's photo, other then the fact that there wasn't any garnish in ours and the salmon slices were a tad small, everything was ay-okay!:) esp the soup. hahahahahha! though it felt a lil funny as the soup was served in a plastic container. easy for packing if you can't finish it though. and the green tea? came in a very thick, good quality paper cup..that i sheepishly carried it, sipping throughout the journey from sushi Q to the car and later, washed the cup and kept it. laughs* im using it to put pens and stuffs. maybe i should decorate it too since it's so plain! :P

when sushi Q was frst opened (or when i frst saw it at 1U) i was really doubtful bout it. i mean..it's right in the middle of the "highway" and it looks like an express, take&go counter. how good can it be? sushi is supposed to be a delicate thing, personally made by the chef's hands with heart (acc. to me larh) but with mass production nowadays you tend to raise an eyebrow bout it. but Thank God, sushi Q did not let me down..well not top-notch but at least, it's wayyyyyy better then i expected:)

Only addition, No subtraction

big boy's (uh*hm...or should i say ah pek? :P) 26th (hahaha :P) birthday started off with bulat having an exam in the morning and him having work....laughs*

anyway we had our first eateat celebration at 6 to 10 @ Aman Suria...cause...bulat was really hungry T_T and can't wait any longer...so in the end went to the nearest not bad place to eat. birthday boy ordered fish&chips...which the round one uh*hm..i think end up eating more of it then he did hahahahh cause it was really good! :D while doing so, round one was slowly, sneakily passing bit by bit her chicken chop over to his plate and stealing more of his fish~:D
sorryyy.. T_T but ..we both were happy right?! cause a full tummy is a happy one!:P

night time was some random restaurant/cafe near his place. the 3 of us...him, me and his mom ~ laughs* went for a grocery walk and then proceed to have dinner together. too paiseh to take photos of the food in front of his mom but look at the nice cups as deco! :P anytime also got spare if anyone were to break any cups! hahah good "storage!" food was not bad actually, maybe cause we ate things that we both liked hahahah~big paiseh came when his mom paid for the dinner....so i just said a "thank you auntie!" with a "oh noooo how comeee!! paiseh!! sorry!!" look all over my face-_-
meet barney (yes now you all know who pocky sayang most...is not me. is barney hahahaha) this cake....is like...i prayed with all my heart, crossed all my fingers and toes and whatever, hoping it taste AT LEAST OKAY. at least a pass..cause it is....yes, homemade. hahahahahah T_T i shall skip my horrible chocolate cake baking story for another day~-_-!! but i'm thankful both him and his mom liked the cake. yayyyy *dances around! throws jellybeans* pocky was giving me stress the whole day! he kept saying "cakecakecake!" i was like "Erggggg!!!what if the cake KILLED SOMEONE!?"
yea-_-
no candles...cause...33 TOO MANY CANDLES to put on this tinytiny cake....or someone REFUSES to put candles...hohoho:P anyway, sorry for lying bout the 26 in the beginning..that's the correct age number...in pockys heart...33 is by actual math :P
(please go check Daiso cake mould to see how small it is LOL)

day 2! *wah 2 day celebration some more! can i add one more candle on his cake then? hahah:P ate BBQ plaza! cause...i think the only reason we like to eat here is that we enjoy cooking the meat (and me without having to scrub that pan!) supposed to eat with sylvia and her lengjai talking machine:P but in the end we had a 'romantic' lunch together without them instead LOL

the must to do plan. bowling....cause pocky wanna show off his skills on his birthday :P
hahahaha which all of us gotta admit, there WAS skills. but next day, he say arm pain. poor baby....laughs* bowling gave him back a birthday present. muscle pain :P

look at sylvia's yeng pose! :P hahahahha marks wise. pocky had an average of 1xx. lengjai talking machine had a 8x and steadily increased to 1xx. sylvia started off with ..i don't know...3x? haha but increased to a decent number towards the end...7x?? bulat is the best! started off with 6x THEN DROPPED TO ...don't even know got DOUBLE DIGIT BOH.
EPIC FAIL! ROAR!
can we like, go for painting or something next time? hahahah

nah, must show off his ...armguard?
but actually i was really liking the pins hung above as deco:P (look at top left please!)

CREPE! :D erm...conned the birthday boy to eat with me. hahahahha eating this makes me happy...and fat-_- so see which side wins. if feel fat, no eat. if feel happy, eat.

and now i present you....

sylvia's leng jai talking machine's buttocks. HAHAHAHA~
he's veryvery gung ho and determined to lure "something" out! failing though~
birthday boy trying his luck! :P
also, FAIL.

hello ! :D hahahah in the end only sylvia managed to lure him/her? out~
sylvia's the best, rabbit also can sense who are the good and who are the badddddd (*points to the aboveabove photo hahaha) i haven't showed ANY PHOTO of lengjai talking machine's face but the rabbit's hair IS EXACTLY like his! :D veryvery cute!
*pinch*

the day ended with pocky bringing out Casey, Fishy and me to Aman Suria's Murni to have dinner....which jeng! see birthday boy sure got jackpot wan! our loh shu fun had........metal sponge bits and pieces inside~ lucky not cockroach legs or something! :P

once again, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR AH PEK!
may everyday be a happy, blessed one!:)

The Bread Shop at Bukit Damansara

The Bread Shop
11, Jalan Setiakasih 5,
Bukit Damansara,
50490 Kuala Lumpur
Telephone: 03-2093 8734
Business hour: Mon-Fri(8am-7:30pm), Saturday(8am-5pm), closed on Sundays

atas price for atas looking everyday bread. baby brother introduced this place. to him, it's not about cheap versus expensive. to him it's always quality vs price. to him for the quality of bread they are serving, it deserves the slightly overpriced price. laughs*

hot cross bun, hot cross bun, one a penny, two a penny, hot cross bun
baby brother's ultimate fav. from this shop

sausage bun & croissant.
did not eat the croissant but the sausage bun i tapao-ed it all into my tummy! i was surprised myself that i finished it all up! laughs* one bite led to another and next thing i knew it was all gone! before we even reached home!-_-

*custard bun*

the custard inside! yums!*
filled to the brim! not like those bread shops that i have to eat all the way to the middle to actually eat some custard..and at most just a bite of custard and it's gone! ROAR! don't call it custard bun then! call it DIET custard bun!-_-!

went back several times after this, to try the many other kinds they have to offer esp the chocolate danish that my bro loves and the banana butterscotch danish that made mom happy. i recalled this grandmama who was buying bread and the worker recommended "this is one of our best seller!" and she said " what?! you are telling me to buy your BAD SELLER? clear stock?!"

hahahah i don't know whose face was more priceless. the worker upon hearing her remark or the grandmamas, utter shock at the wrong thing she has heard. i was just trying hard not to laugh. hahahahaha

overall, nice bread but for the kind of price tag that comes with it, either eat it occasionally or earn more money ! laughs* kamsiah*

oh! must remember to buy scones for mom to test taste next round~~

Sock Dolls

Was killing time at MPH one day when I saw a "How to Make Dolls out of Socks" book. It was DAMN CUTE and I would have bought it on the spot ...if it wasn't in Chinese-_-! *knocks head on wall for being banana* Seriously, one of the biggest drawback for being a banana is that you can't save EONS of money from all these Chinese translated from another language art books. Any art book that is translated to Chinese easily costs 30-40% less then the original language the book comes in. bah!

But...
I bought it anyway.
:P
as a gift for ms.chan.
hahahahahahah
It was soooo cute that.....I wanna be greedy and not let any person have it! Differentlarh when I know exactly who is owning it (so silly right?! MPH will restock -_- plus they have outlets everywhere!) plus she did mention before that she was interested in making some handicraft...so might as well larh.

Well, one good deed deserves another.

Cause, her first handmade doll from the book is now MINE! :D

wheeeee. meet....ms.yuen yuen (also means round but in Chinese)

it's actually a Matryoshka Doll (Russian doll) and supposed to be small and cute(from what I remember seeing in the book)  She said it was a "failed" doll but not like I care and it IS damn cute.

Plus only one in the world! hahahahah :P

yes, those are my clothes behind and my newly bought xmas earrings ( I can still remember ms.chan's look when she saw me wearing wreath earrings for xmas :P)

sooooo cutttteeeee...it can't even stand straight. hahahah I feel like poking it everytime to make it tip over. too bad it doesn't wobble. would be cute to see it wobble like Darumas. Upon posting it on Facebook, the amount of people commenting is like O_O I hardly get comments so to see many notifications is just plain crazy. The amount of people asking her to make for them is crazy too. I think non of us foresee this. It's as simple as me buying the book out of the blue for her and her wanting to do something to kill her excess free time.

She's a fast one-_- next thing I knew, another was "born!" Equally cute! :D
It even comes with a one sided sock-_- wthethaifishcakes.

Baby brother abusing it maximum. hahahaha :D By now, my family is telling her to quit her job and prolly concentrate on mass producing this instead. Ms.Chan's look of "wathebbqsauce?" She said it's easier to churn money sitting behind a desk in office then sewing a doll. *laughs* Well, at least now I know why are handmade items soooo expensive / price tag seems to be higher then normal mass produced items.

                                                       The perfectly symmetry back-_-
Abusing to a different level all together.

The brand new "line" she's currently sewing. *laughs* which I think also had the most feedbacks. She did prolly a grand total of 3 copied ideas from the book (which had like eons of different kinds you can do) and right after that she started creating her own ones. -_- I don't know how she does it and I will prolly never get it. In anycase, it only gets cuter and cuter. Seriously, look at the bear above. Can you imagine it was a SOCK in the first place?! I can't even comprehend which part is which! O_O Epic cuteness in a different way from the normal cuteness. It even comes with a pocket and bow tie leh!

Seriously, I think they would make veryvery good baby toys.
