My Rojak CNY

I love ChineseNewYear!!
I love Christmas & Valentine's & every other festival also la actually.....*laughs*
But yea, I love ChineseNewYear!! :D

I have veryvery fond memories of CNY when I was young :) Although now that I am older, CNY is no longer the same....but it still holds meaning for me and I enjoy having the excuse of having meet ups and just eateateateateateateateateateat!! like.non.stop.

CNY : First Time Moment

Everyone asking ah pek and me to marry like fast. like nownownow!!!O_O
It's a first for me cause I never had the "Got boyfwen aledy a not?" question thrown to my face before. Ah pek is my first and everyone was kinda surprised I actually found someone..(you know...since I am half otaku and all) *laughs* But yea, I guess this question will come naturally since both of us have been together quite a while now.

CNY : Always happen every year moment

Aunties & Uncles that I only meet once.a.year. Doesn't help that my grandparents each have soooo many siblings and their children also have soooooo many kids. Calling the angmo way of "auntie, uncle" just doesn't feel right but yea T_T some of them don't even know how should I address them ok?!

CNY : OMG moment

Went to a relative's place at Payang Mengkuang, Melacca (?) and omg! they run a piggy farm! O_O I am really a city girl..cause next thing I knew I was skipping towards the piggy farm, dragging my brother bear along. hahaha! I have never been to a piggy farm leh!! the piglets were soooooo adorablllleeeeee T_T I don't think I can ever eat suckling pigs anymore T_T it is my fav dish summore T_T but the mother pigs (sow?) were HUGE. like HUGE O_O din't expect piggies to be so HUGE.

CNY : Surprise moment!

Ah pek's younger sister gave birth to a teenyweeny cute baby girl on the 3rd day of CNY!! *shrieks* I am sooooooooo happy cause I looooooveeee babies but I ......haven't seen the cute lil' one yet. whatheblah. Had awful flu so had to stay away T_T now that I am as healthy as an ox.......I'm always having this&that function. GAH! T_T

CNY : Adult moment

Did dumplings because my mom wanted to make dumplings. yes, it's an odd logic and for a person that has zero skill in the kitchen, my cousins & I surprisingly churned out MANY of it. Seriously can call us dumpling queens! -_- & do you know?! I read somewhere that the more dumpling you eat during CNY , the more you will earn throughout the year. What bout the people who make T_T sniff*
CNY : Awkward moment

erm, awkward moment is awkward. Nuf said T_T

CNY : UOOCNY!
hmm..does this even make sense? ^^"

hahahaha! fav CNY outfit. selamba only me! I wore a peplum top to one of my CNY dinner...and yea, was really controlling my food so I can breathe easier *laughs* so yea, I would love to live in tees&shorts.(or any non tight fitting random top&shorts)  Unfortunately, I don't wanna die early. *feels my mom's scary glare* T_T
How was everyone's CNY?? :D
Rojak(in a good way of course!) like mine too? :D
I am looking forward to eating "shun pun zhi", Rakuzen & steamboat with family&friends this weekend! :D:D

Thank You Notes

Only when it is a brand new year I realize how fast time flies. *laughs* 52 weeks in a year and now we are almost done with 2 weeks! O_O gah!

Last weekend, I jotted down all my resolutions! Like every year! and break (almost) all of them by the end of the year, every year! :D

It's like I'm writing just for the sake of writing and by the end of the year I check to see if I broke less resolutions this year compared to the last :P

I set more carefree resolutions this year as seen above....*laughs* Self improvements/bigger achievements are supposed to be made (slowly bitbybit) daily like habit anyway, no need to write resolutions for it....I think? ^^"

Also, I realized that I have been an ungrateful girl (omg, so old dy I still refer myself as girl!-_- buay paiseh!) last year. I took a lot of things for granted and with age (ta-dah!) comes wisdom!!! Okayla, not really wisdom but as years pass you will see certain things in a different light! :D

Since I am a really spoiled girl....I thought I would do a "Thank You" box? (what is this called actually ? O_O)

I will write one thing I am grateful for everyday. (It's also a good excuse to doodle :P) and put all into the "box." I saw on websites that usually nice jars are used but since I am supposed to save quite a sum of money this year *uh-hm* ciplak CNY cookie jars are RM1.80 somewhat and I can just deco it to the max la!

Anyway, by the end of 2013, I will have 365 gratitude notes to read and feel thankful for! :) *fingers crossed*

Oh, one of the best things that happened last year (which was really something new to me), meeting /making new friends through this blog of mine. I have been blogging since 2002 (deadjournal.com anyone?) and this is the first time I made friends like this! :) I am happy and grateful to know each and everyone of you! Inc. you guys who always leave comments here! :)

Reallyreally grateful :')

Two Zero One Three

Baby brother had a small gathering this new year eve and knowing my brother, anything organized by them usually means...doing nothing and just wait to eat :D I am dead serious, the last time I went for a trip with his friends to Cameron. The guys DID EVERYTHING. From planning to cooking to washing! I really just sat and eat and talk crap with the girls :P

But lil did I know this year things would be different T_T *laughs* part of the reason is cause they have a certified chef amongst them and this year he is busy thus leaving my brother to do most of the work...and I got worried (as usual) so in the end I was his "slave" in the kitchen T_T

It was super chaotic cause my brother had zero plannings-_- he just cooked as it went! -_- so the guests were really like eating course meals, like one after another. I am just happy everything turned out fine (since I am like the worst cook ever. I think the correct grammar is I can't cook haha) and everyone was super stuffed in the end (most important!)
At 11.50pm, last minute-ly we decided to drive out near the area to see fireworks. We have been going there and doing this since 3 years back but with all the upcoming houses and high-rise condos T_T I guess we have to drive to somewhere new next year. *sad*
And looked what followed me from 2012! -_-!! Right after the fireworks, with the flu along, I lost my voice!-_-! what a way to start 2013!!! ms.Chan was laughing seeing how the supposedly most healthiest in the group is now sick right at the beginning of a new year! T_T

Spent the next hour not able to answer any HAPPY 2013 calls and drank loads of honey till I felt like Winnie the Pooh.

Din't work. bah*

Bulat's First Nuffnang Event

First and foremost, would like to thank GPS for bringing us to a malay wedding.

The event was supposed to start at 2pm and there I was stuck in the neighbourhood...had to call Ann from Nuffnang to say that I will be late. First time going for a Nuffnang event and I am late. very good ah bulat!! -_-!

Was a lil worried at first cause I will stone in an environment that I know no one O_O But my heart....hahaha felt lighter the moment I saw familiar faces! Actually as soon as I found the cafe (which ah...took me a while cause I kept going into elevators that bring me no where! O_O) I started scanning to see if I know anyone (^^")
I sat next to MissyMiyen during the talk, whom I recognized from her blog! Had random thoughts to myself while stealing glances at her...hahaha (no manners bulat! did not even intro myself!)

Within 10 minutes or so, I pitied her. Cause every now and then, some random person would kacau her say,"Excuse Me." cause she's pretty :D. Well other than that is cause her seat so strategic, everyone wants to walk pass it to get to the other side!
Both Ernest and Chee Ching were so good!! I bet everyone was mesmerized by their "magic show!" *laughs* I no kidding one last post!! Keng leh the way they draw! Now I just gotta see Miao's! Heard it's faster than lightning ah! pewpewpew!! (piupiupiu??)

*paiseh* I started eating halfway during the talk...cause so hungry! T_T my stomach's orchestra later louder than their speeches...They both gave sooo many good tips and all. I regretted not bringing pen&paper T_T Some more with my brain capacity..hurhurhur. In the end I prayed hard, and lucky other bloggers were hardworking, unlike me T_T *steals info from their blogs*
Also...short attention span. :P hahaha! Ernest's shirt really looked like he wore it inside out! I was staring at it quite long, in the end of the day I actually touched his sleeve to check. Feel like a mom suddenly-_-! Kns.
I love Sarah!! (One of Malaysia's top comic artist) She's a bundle of joy and positiveness!! O_O Her speech was hebat ah!!! Inspired me to do something that I wanted to do for a looooooongest time, but din't get my lazy ass to do it :(  Will be for my 2013 resolution!! And yes....the browniesss T_T Cause I was asking her tons of questions!! Dragged Ras in somemore! sorryyyyy!! Luckily they refilled it! If not I don't know how....huhuhu.

Omgosh! Meet Staci!! O_O I don't know who starstruck who at that point. hahahaha! Her paper dolls are like one of the cutest things on earth!! If they were stickers, I would stick them everywhere !!! EVERYWHERE! I tell you! EVERYWHERE! *shows serious look*nodsnods* Am so happy she came up to me, if not I will never know who is behind the cute paper dolls T_T
Everyone's mini souvenier! :D:D Can't get over Ernest's #likeabaws signature and ah pek looks like he's wearing sarong! :P

And...Staci, (if you ever stumbled upon here) since you ask why I am called bulat although I don't look very bulat...Here is my bulat proof. Now also got, I just hide my roundness well. :P

10 minute "door opener" job

The other day, I was *requested* to wear a saree (or is it spelled as sari?) for my family's lawyer's birthday + pre-Deepavali dinner. Although I was realllllyyy reluctant to wear it (I can't accept the fact that my round tummy is being shown to the world leh! But other than that, saree is nice to wear!) must give face to birthday girl woman and also cause I wanna make my saree worth. Calculative level 10. *laughs*

The moment I walked in, everyone's eyes was on me...cause I was the only one in a saree ...and I am Chinese-_-! At that point I did not know what to feel. Wanted to hide but arh T_T how to hide??....why the heck is my saree maroon somemore!?-_-!! Why was I super punctual that day!? *stabs self*

In the end, decided to stand near the main door of  Gem Restaurant (which I totally recommend cause it was Yummies!) Actually now that I blog bout this...why did I not ask if there was a reservation under the birthday girl's name? -_- At least could have sat down ah!! *faints*
Automatically opens door for every customer walking in...hahahaha! Actually what is the position of this job? Bellboy? Hmm..
Won't you all open the door too if you were standing near it? Manners right?! The standard "Malaysian usually late for 10 minutes" really felt forever T_T Thankfully it was just 10 minutes, after that the gang walked in with sarees and I immediately blended in ~

We took many sakai photos.
I think we were the loudest, noisiest bunch in the restaurant O_O
and yes, 70% of our table guests are Chinese. *laughs*
